THE GOODNESS OF THYME
Regularly consumed in Lebanon and neighboring Mediterranean countries, thyme is a culinary staple. Lucky for us, because it carries a large number of health benefits.
Like numerous other wild herbs, thyme has medicinal qualities. It is packed with vitamin C and it is also a good source of vitamin A, vitamin K, copper, fiber, iron, and manganese. It also contains a variety of important bioflavonoids and volatile oils, including thymol, which has antioxidant properties.
Blended with vegetable oils, other wild herbs, nuts, seeds and spices, zaatar mixes are significantly rich in essential nutrients.
